Updated: Oct 6, 2020
Reports have surfaced that R&B singer Daystar Peterson, better known as Tory Lanez, was arrested on gun charges Sunday morning following an alleged altercation outside of his home in Hollywood Hills. It was also reported that female rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, was present during the altercation and was taken to a hospital and treated for a foot injury after the arrest.
Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to “set the record straight” and address false rumors that she was arrested along with Tory Lanez. She also confirmed that she actually suffered gunshot wounds during the altercation.
In her IG post she wrote, “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime
that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me. I was never arrested; the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”
She continued, “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important to me to clarify the details about this traumatic night. I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible. “
Following Megan’s post, Kelsey Nicole, who was also present during the incident, took to IG to clear rumors that she shot Megan.
“I want to clear up the rumors that I shot Megan,” she said. “I wasn’t the one with the gun and would never do something like that. However, I was present.”
As the story is still developing, many people are trying to unpack what exactly took place that night. “Who Shot Meg” quickly became a trend on Twitter as many took to social media to ask their questions and suggest theories.
“Black Twitter is about to find out who show Meg in less that 24 hours,” one user tweeted.
“So I need to have answers on who shot Meg ASAP and I need Kylie Jenner to be seriously questioned because the fact that Meg and Tory were with her one time and everything went to s*** is not sitting well with me,” another user tweeted.
